BICS assessment brings company eligibility, official classifications and site evidence together without turning an early indication into a promise.
From first check to official review
Each stage answers a different question. Keeping them separate makes uncertainty visible and helps prevent a broad business-level answer from being applied to the wrong site.

Confirm eligible activity
Compare the registered four-digit SIC and the manufactured product’s six-digit HS code with the current official list.

Confirm GB manufacturing
Establish that the claimed activity is manufacturing carried out in Great Britain.

Test each site
Check annual grid-supplied electricity at every claimed site. A site must reach at least 33 MWh on its own.

Understand the relief band
Use the eligible manufacturing share for each site to indicate 0%, 50% or 100% of eligible in-scope policy costs.

Review the evidence
Check registrations, classifications, electricity records and production evidence before relying on any indication.
What to expect after the checker
The result stays on the checker page and explains the reason for each site’s outcome.
A likely indication still needs official review. A further-review result highlights uncertainty or mixed sites. A not-currently-matched result identifies which current answer did not meet the stated criteria.
