Prepare a clear evidence trail

Eligibility & Evidence

Understand the factors used by the indicative checker and gather information for each manufacturing site before you begin.

Eligibility factors used in the checker

Companies House

Confirm the company can be identified through Companies House and record the company number used for the check.

GB manufacturing

Confirm the manufacturing activity for which support may be claimed takes place in Great Britain.

Site-specific electricity

Record annual grid-supplied electricity for every claimed site. Each site must reach at least 33 MWh independently.

Eligible manufacturing share

Estimate the percentage of site electricity related to eligible manufacturing. The checker reports the corresponding indicative relief band without using a cash rate.

Evidence checklist

  • Companies House number and current registration record
  • Registered four-digit SIC code
  • Six-digit HS code for the eligible product manufactured
  • Site addresses and evidence of GB manufacturing activity
  • Annual grid-supplied electricity records for each claimed site
  • Working for the eligible electricity share at each site

When details are unclear

Select “Not sure” rather than guessing. Classification uncertainty, incomplete evidence or mixed site outcomes are shown as FURTHER REVIEW so they can be interpreted properly.
